Frequently Asked Questions
What is included and what is not?
The prices listed above cover accommodation and, when selected, pottery classes. They do not include flights, meals, or transportation to and from Valladolid.
What should I know about Valladolid and the pottery classes?
Valladolid is one of the cultural and historical centers of YucatΓ‘n. Founded in 1545, it is home to churches, cenotes, local markets, and landmarks such as the Convent of San Bernardino de Siena. It is also a great base for exploring nearby archaeological sites and the surrounding region.
The pottery classes take place in Uayma, a nearby town known for its connection to local traditions and craft.
Food
Valladolid is an affordable and rewarding place to eat well. A full regional meal can cost around $6 USD, and the local market offers excellent fresh fruit and vegetables at very accessible prices. We recommend trying local ingredients you may not have had before, such as mamey, caimito, zapote, and regional pumpkin.
Transportation
ADO buses are a practical and affordable way to travel to and from Valladolid. A one-way ride from Tulum usually costs around $8 USD.
We can also help arrange private airport transportation from CancΓΊn for an additional cost of approximately $90 USD one way.
For pottery classes in Uayma, a round-trip taxi from Valladolid is usually around $12 USD. Shared vans are also available for about $2 USD per trip. Uayma is approximately 20 minutes from Valladolid by car.
Can the pottery classes be adapted to my schedule?
Yes. The classes can be tailored to your travel plans, level of experience, and interests. Once we receive your inquiry, we can help shape the best format for your stay.
Can I bring my partner or a friend?
Yes. The room has enough space for one additional guest and includes one king bed plus one individual bed. If you would like to share the stay with a partner, friend, or travel companion, they are welcome.
If they would also like to take classes, those would be charged separately at the listed rates.
How far is Valladolid from Tulum?
Valladolid is approximately 1.5 hours from the Tulum area by car or bus. If you are planning to split your stay between Valladolid and Tulum, we can also help guide you based on your timing and interests.
How do I know which stay or experience is right for me?
Send us a message and we can help you shape the best option based on your interests, dates, and preferred rhythm β whether that means a creative weekend, a longer residency stay, pottery classes, or a more flexible cultural escape.
