In the first edition of Horizontes Mexicanos, artist Bache created what is now considered the tallest mural in Tulum, a monumental artwork that rises over La Veleta as a new symbol of Mexican contemporary muralism.

Painted as part of a month-long residency co-produced by Tulum Art Club and Artery, the piece explores themes of memory, ecology, and resilience through Bache’s signature language of subtle figures and layered textures.

Tulum Art Club and Artery have officially launched Horizontes Mexicanos — the first art festival in Tulum created by and for Mexican artists. From murals by Colectivo Cherani to upcoming residencies with artists from Guadalajara, Durango, and Monterrey, this project marks a cultural shift in the region.
