Who is this residency for?
This residency is for artists who crave time to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and create from a place of rest and inspiration and are open the creative exchange we offer. What’s included in the residency?
Six nights of accommodation at Holistika, two nourishing meals per day, daily yoga sessions, a traditional temazcal ceremony, and uninterrupted time and space to create. You'll also become part of Holistika’s first-ever limited edition print collection.Do artists receive income from the prints?
This is an exchange-based opportunity. Artists will not receive direct income from print sales. Instead, we offer a fully covered experience valued at over $1,800 USD in exchange for participation in the print collection. This includes visibility through our physical and digital platforms, and the potential for future paid collaborations. What kind of work are you looking for?
We welcome all visual art mediums that can be adapted into high-quality prints. The most important thing is that the work reflects your personal experience at Holistika and is created with intention and authenticity. What’s the deadline to apply?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We recommend applying early to be considered for upcoming residencies. Is travel covered?
No, travel expenses are not included. Artists are responsible for arranging and covering their own transportation to and from Holistika Tulum. Can I bring a partner or friend?
Yes, you may bring a partner or friend. Accommodation is included, but meals and activities (such as yoga and ceremonies) are not. Exceptions can be made for artist couples or artist friends applying together — approval required in advance. What are the rights and terms for the artwork?
Artists retain full authorship rights. By participating, you authorize Holistika and Tulum Art Club to reproduce the artwork as part of the limited edition print collection. The original piece will remain at Holistika as part of the permanent collection and for future exhibition purposes, once the collection is complete. What size should the artwork be?
We are looking for original works in small to medium formats that can be professionally scanned and reproduced. Ideal formats include A4, A3, or similar sizes. All mediums welcome as long as they can be translated into a high-quality digital print. Will I need to sign any documents upon arrival?
Yes. Artists will be required to sign a liability waiver and media release form upon arrival. We strongly recommend having personal travel insurance for the duration of your stay. Can I sell my original work?
While the original artwork created during the residency will remain with Holistika for the collection, artists may create additional works during their stay which they are free to sell, gift, or keep.
