FIELD NOTE / ARCHIVE
From Beach to Town: Tulum Art Club’s Mural Archive
More than a decade of walls, artists, collaborations and changing streets in Tulum.

I never put all of this in one place.
So I am doing it now.
This is our mural archive.
It starts in 2012 with cheap phones and big dreams.
Some photos are blurry. That is okay. The texture belongs to the time.

WHY THIS ARCHIVE MATTERS
Tulum is more than parties
These walls show another story. Community. Nature. Ritual.
We painted with friends and strangers. We asked for ladders, paint, and trust.
We learned how art can change a space and a mood. We made mistakes. We kept going.
This is my way to say thank you to everyone who helped us paint, host, or simply stop to watch.

2012–2014
First steps
Small walls. Big energy. We tested colors under jungle light.

2015–2016
From sea breeze to town life
In 2016 we opened Tulum Art Club and shifted the scene from beach spots to town streets.
That same year, the Holistika Art Walk began—nature became part of the curation.

2017–2019
Community and exchange
Workshops with neighbors. Murals that speak about roots.
Artists from Mexico and abroad met here and left a mark.

2020–2022
Pause and resilience
Tourism slowed. We focused on local projects and kept the flame with modest interventions.

2023–2025
Reactivation and new bridges
Residencies, prints, and collaborations.
We return to walls with a clear purpose: art that tells stories from here.
