Meet Anxel

Anxel (Flavio López López), born on October 5, 1996, in the town of Bautista Chico, municipality of San Juan Chamula Chiapas, Mexico. Belonging to the Tsotsil ethnic group, Maya. Currently studying the Bachelor of Visual Arts at the UNICACH, University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas.

Anxel has his first encounters with the plastic arts at eight years of age, through the House of Culture of Chamula. In 2018 he studied the Diploma in Colonial Painting at the Museum of the Altos, San Cristóbal de las Casas. Throughout his career he has had several collective and individual exhibitions, both local and in the various galleries and museums of San Cristóbal de Las Casas and in the capital Chiapaneca. At the national level, he has participated in group exhibitions such as the First Festival of Arts in Resistance, which took place at the facilities of the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Mexico City and the capital's zocalo. He has participated in various drawing and painting competitions nationwide. He has made several murals, such as the collaborative mural in the Samuel Ruíz Jtatik Museum and in the spaces of HOSCEM Hospital and Medical Center, in San Cristóbal De La Casas. And he has collaborated with the image of the cover of the poetry book "U'al Ixim - Collar de maíz".
